Oregon CHL class questions and answers.
What is the Utah CFP ?
Utah Concealed Firearms Permit that you can get as a non-resident
and will allow you to carry a concealed Handgun in over 28 states.
What is the Oregon CHL ?
Oregon Concealed Handgun License that allows you to carry a concealed Handgun in the State of Oregon and a few other States.
Only residents from Oregon , Washington , Idaho , Nevada and California can obtain this permit.
Can we get certifications for both Permits in one class ?
Yes you can . I will teach the Utah CFP class in its entirety which includes everything and more that is required for the OR CHL certification.
What does "private class" mean ?
It means that I teach the class that you host at your location. It is scheduled at a time that is convenient to you, your family and friends.
What do I get out of it ?
If you get a minimum of 6 paying students together your class
is free ! Also the convenience of not having to travel somewhere
to get the certifications.
What are the costs?
My minimum charge is $450 (6 students at $75/person).
The host as #7 goes free. Above 12 students the fee goes down to
$65/person. Above 20 students the fee goes down to $50/person
which is a great value to get both certifications.
How do we pay for the class ?
Cash or check. No Credit Cards accepted.
Do I have to collect the fees before the class and make one single payment before the class ?
No , it's ok if the students pay separate after class, but if you want to make sure they show up and your group gets the discounts, you might have them pay you in advance . It's up to you , you know how reliable the people you invited to class are.
What about fingerprinting and photos ?
The Oregon CHL requires fingerprints and photograph at the Sherriff's office. For the Utah CFP application you need to provide those yourself . ( We can help you with that ).
Can you provide Passport photograph and FBI fingerprint card services ?
Yes , for an additional $25 per student (which is about what you would pay anyway) I can bring someone to class who will fingerprint and take passport pictures and also notarize your
Utah applications . Saves you time and running around.
What is expected from me as a host ?
You need to provide a safe , suitable room for your friends and family and spread the word to get enough people together.
What about food and drinks ?
That's again up to you . I have seen everything from some light snacks , take out sandwiches or pizza , pot luck to a catered 5 star buffet .
What do you need to conduct the class ?
The class is conducted as a Power Point presentation .
I will bring a screen , laptop and digital projector and only need
a little table to set up the projector and laptop.
If you have a modern big screen TV with computer input capability
we can use that too for optimized picture quality .

I would suggest that you get your core group together and discuss with them what times and dates would be good .
Then contact me and we will set the date and then you can do some more advertisement if you want to invite some more people.
How difficult is it to get 7 people interested in a class like that ?
You would be surprised how many people are interested to obtain
a CCW permit . Most of my hosts get many more interested in the class then they thought.
Who should I ask if they want to join in ?
I would recommend to start with your close family and friends
first and then maybe venture out and talk to the neighbors and
co-workers . You might just be surprised how many like minded
people you are surrounded with.
Anything else I need to provide before the class ?
I would appreciate it if you could send me a completed (as possible)
student roster about 2 days before the class ( just download the word
file , fill it out as you get your students together and send it back to me ).
